Scarlett Johansson threatens to sue UK Cosmopolitan in dispute over quotes.

So I for one think this story is absolutely hilarious. Apparently the UK Cosmo reprinted a story the US Cosmo did about Scarlett. They added a few quotes on Scarlett's marriage to actor Ryan Reynolds one of the quotes was, "Ryan and I are in love and we're enjoying our relationship together," and "We're like any other couple – we feel so fortunate to be together."

hahahaha, so you are suing because this is all a lie and in fact, your marriage sucks and you do not feel fortunate at all. Really Scarlett?

The second part that I thought was hilarious is, "Ms Johansson ... is disappointed to see a seemingly reputable publication inexplicably publish a work of fiction at her expense."

Reputable publication? Cosmo? Seriously? The magazine that publish a new sex position for every day of the week.

Ok, Ill stop, I agree regardless of whatever was fabricated it was wrong to make up quotes. But I think suing is a bit a much. Or even making a giant hoopla like this. I think this just puts Scarlett in a bad light. Now I am wondering why she refueses to say nice things about her marriage???

Iraqi Shoe-Thrower to Appear in Court

A criminal court judge will decide whether there is sufficient cause to try the reporter, Muntader al-Zaidi, 29, who has become a folk hero in much of the Arab world for taking off his shoes and hurling them one after the other at Mr. Bush during a news conference in Baghdad on Sunday evening with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki.

The senior lawyer, Dheyaa Saadi, head of the Union of Lawyers in Iraq and one of the country’s most high-profile lawyers, said that he had volunteered to defend Mr. Zaidi if the judge elects to detain him pending further court hearings.

“I will introduce myself as his lawyer and demand the case be closed and Muntader be released because he did not commit a crime,” said Mr. Saadi. “He only freely expressed himself to the occupier, and he has such a right according to international law.”

During the joint news conference with Mr. Bush and Mr. Maliki on Sunday evening in Baghdad’s Green Zone, Mr. Zaidi, a reporter for Al-Baghdadia, a satellite television network, rose from his seat and threw one of his shoes at Mr. Bush’s head. He shouted: “This is a gift from the Iraqis; this is the farewell kiss, you dog!”

Mr. Bush ducked and the shoe missed him. Moments later, Mr. al-Zaidi threw his other shoe, this time shouting, “This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq!” The shoe struck the wall behind Mr. Bush.

Under Iraqi law, Mr. Zaidi could face up to seven years in prison for the crime of initiating an aggressive act against a head of a foreign state on an official visit.

Amid conflicting news reports, Mr. Zaidi’s condition and his treatment by guards since his detention on Sunday remain uncertain.

After he threw the shoes, Mr. Zaidi was subdued by a fellow journalist and then beaten by members of the prime minister’s security detail, who hauled him out of the room in his white socks. Mr. Zaidi’s cries could be heard from a nearby room as the news conference continued.

According to The Associated Press, the Al-Baghdadia network reported that he had been “seriously injured” during his detention and called on the government to allow lawyers and the Iraqi Red Crescent to visit him. But later one of his brothers said on Al-Baghdadia that he had spoken by telephone with Mr. Zaidi and he told him, “Thank God, I am in good health,” The A.P. reported.

seven years for throwing a shoe??? I think this is a bit much.

Are parents murderers of love and free spirit?

This is an age old question.
Television, film and literature have stated that this is all true. That in fact, parents are murderers of free spirit, creativity and love.

But the question is not so much are they but rather why are they? Now, I am sure people will say, life experiences. Because at some point in there respectable lives they walked down the same beaten path we are venturing through and they took a right instead of a left. They know what happens when you take a right and would rather have you be safe and sound going in the other direction.

Fair.

But stupid. I for one absolutely loathe the term "we just want what is best for you," I loathe it. 1. how do you know what is beat for me? 2. Who made you God and the decider for what is best and the ever popular 3. I'd like to make my own mistakes.

I agree that some decisions should not be made and if your child is doing something undeniably stupid, like smoking crack, it is time for an intervention. BUT if your child is doing something like aspiring to be an artist, don't crush there dreams. Who are you to do so? Parents fear for there children and we all know that if you fear you cannot live. Life is full of uncertainties and that scares parents, but you cannot lock up your kid.

These are all the reasons why I never want to have any kids. Who am I to decide the fate of another being? I should not have that right.

Bravo India

After he spoke, a lawmaker rose and asked "Why don't you attack Pakistan?"

And Mukherjee answered, "I am making it clear that is no solution."

Prime Minister Singh said that India has so far "acted with utmost restraint" but it should not be misconstrued "as a sign of weakness." He said that the "the idea of India as a functioning democracy and pluralistic society is at stake."

More Pakistan/India

I read today a bunch of statements made by Condo Rice concerning the situation. I love how she used words like "urging." I love it when people use that word because it can mean two things 1. if you don't do what we are urging you to do then you are dead or 2. We don't really want you to do anything.
Remember in college when you took a history course and the professor said "I urge you to read this book in addition to your assigned reading." Did you ever read that book?
I could be wrong. But anyway, Condo Rice urged Pakistan to help India in the investigation. She claimed that Pakistan had a special responsibility. Again, with the words "special?" Makes it sound like Pakistan got a really great Christmas present last year, like an Ipod touch from India and therefore, Pakistan owes India.

So the Pakistani leader...whats his name responds reassuringly, saying that the people involved were not part of the Government that it was in fact a terrorist organization. So up until I really liked this guy and then I find out this:
But, Mr Zadari has rejected India's request to hand over 20 terrorism suspects. He says if the suspects are guilty they will be dealt with in Pakistan.

WHY would you do that Zadari? WHY? In my eyes thats asking for war. I dont knowwwwwwwwwww.

Pakistan/India

So,
the question on everyone's mind is what is India going to do next? The connection to Pakistan seems pretty clear. Its basically been verified that Pakistani terrorist were responsible for the bombings. But I wonder, what angle the terrorist are playing? Why are they doing all this...
Recently, Pakistan has become considerably popular. The US neeeds them to fight against Al Quaeda.
Which is precisely why Condo Rice went running to India after all this went down. Ugh, this is why my frustration with the US grows. If India needs Pakistan's help and Pakistan is ready and willing. The US should BUTT OUT. Stay the hell out of that side of the planet.
Also,
I don't think the United States fully understands the way these two neighboring countries feel about each other. Unless you are either Pakistani or Indian you simply cannot comprehend the level of hate. My thoughts are the US should butt out and let the two countries decide civilly because it is very rare that they do anything civilly.

"If India posts military troops along it's border with Pakistan, Haqqani said Pakistan will be forced to do the same, diverting resources from fighting the Taliban which has gained strength in parts of Pakistan."

To me, this is absolutely ridiculous...absolutely. So what India not take any military move to protect itself from Paki terrorist that are sneaking into the country via the border?

All My Single Ladies.

The recent influx is engagement/wedding albums is making me absolutely sick with jealousy. I understand that its about that time where people start finding the one and getting all comfortable and cozy with them...but the fact of the matter is that I am not cozy or comfortable and people's happiness makes me angry.

Its true, its the curse of the single girl we simply cannot be completely happy for other couples. We want to desperately but anytime a girl is getting married or engaged the spotlight shifts from her to one of us. Everyone wonders "when is that girl going to get hitched? She cant possible be single forever...Whats so important about her career?"

So I am currently reading this book called, The New Single Woman by, Ellen Kay Trimberger. I like it. Its very informative. According to the book women in there early twenties and thirties that are single are OK. BUT a woman thirty five and older and single is a weirdo.

The trick though, is that those women who are single and young should not be ok with this fact, they must be in a never ending search to find the one. NO not the perfume by Dolce and Gabbana but the one, the soulmate.

A 2001 National Poll by Gallup found that 94% of single women and men between the ages of 25 to 29 were seeking a soulmate to marry and 87% were confident they'd find one.

Now, I wont lie I am one of those 87%...
